Exploring Ponds
We generally think of ponds as being smaller than lakes. This is not always the case, however. One main difference between ponds and lakes is that ponds are shallow enough that plants can grow over all parts of the bottom, whereas lakes often have an open water area that is so deep, rooted plants can't grow there. Why do plants grow in shallow water and not in really deep water? The answer to this question will help us in our search for energy flow answers.
